What is IKEA application?

The IKEA app offers a shopping experience with features such as an extensive product catalog, augmented reality for visualizing furniture in their space, shopping lists, store locator, and design inspiration — all accessible from their mobile devices.

Challenge

The task in this UX/UI case study was to elevate the user experience of the IKEA application, focusing on improved visual presentation, enhanced accessibility features, and resolving existing issues. The ultimate aim was to cultivate a more instinctive and fluid shopping experience for users, regardless of the device they utilize.

Users navigating through the IKEA app encounter a disorienting visual experience characterized by an overwhelming use of bright yellow throughout the interface. This design choice disrupts user engagement and creates a sense of annoyance and frustration. To enhance the app, addressing this issue is paramount

Problem Definition:

  • Diving deep into user behavior and preferences, By understanding how users interact with the app and what they find frustrating, we can pinpoint areas for improvement.

  • We'll streamline the app's navigation and information to make it easier for users to find what they're looking for

  • Leveraging data-driven insights, we'll implement personalized recommendations and customization options to cater to individual user preferences.
