A university student relies on public transportation for daily commutes, needs to find a way to implement a solution that allows for quick and easy purchase of bus tickets, because Inefficient ticket purchasing procedures contribute to tardiness, impacting class participation.

Problem

The goal of the Jeddah Bus Application is to facilitate seamless ticket purchasing for university students, ensure accessible seat selection reminders for individuals with disabilities, and provide real-time bus tracking.

Competitive Analysis

For this  part of the project we decided to explore the competitive landscape of the various bus applications platforms by analyzing three competitiors: Riyadh Bus, Swvl Bus, and Eastern Bus, and compare key features and see what problems they address.

We have done "Featured analysis” “brand analysis” “Mapping Competitors” for each application. We discovered each platform has its unique characteristics and target audience, which influence its brand identity and perception among users.

User Persona

During the user flow phase, we mapped out how our app is structured and how users will move through it. This visual guide shows how different parts of the app connect and helps us organize content, making sure users can easily navigate the platform.

Mid Fidelity Prototype/Testing

During the mid-fidelity stage, we crafted more detailed versions of the application interface and subjected them to user testing. By gathering feedback at this crucial stage, we aim to refine the design further, enhancing usability and overall user experience based on user insights.

In the style tile phase, we combined our brand attributes and mood board into a clear visual guide. This tile contains key design elements like colors, fonts, images, and interface components. It helps ensure consistent design across the product.

Style Tile:

We converted the improved design features from the style tile into a fully functional and elegantly rendered depiction of the product during the high-fidelity prototype phase. This prototype allows for extensive testing and validation prior to creation because it looks and functions quite similar to the final product.

The project strive to keep things easy and trendy for the home screen so JED BUS user will easily

  • Map Screens

These screens designed a map screen where users can easily locate their current position and their destination. Each bus route is displayed distinctly on the map for clear navigation.

  • Personal Informations

  • Select And Pay Screen

These screens allowed users to choose a seat based on their status and preferences on the bus. After selecting their desired seat, users can proceed to pay for their ticket seamlessly.

  • Successful Payment

The user is directed to the payment screen to complete the purchase. After a successful payment, the user receives a screen displaying a barcode. This QR code can be shown to the driver.

  • Tickets Status

These screens are designed to display various states of the ticket, providing clear distinctions between Active tickets that are currently valid and Expired tickets that have lapsed.

By tapping on the third icon on the tab bar, users can access their personal account, where they can view and manage their personal information and settings.

  • Responsive Design

Our iPad responsive design ensures seamless usability in both portrait and landscape orientations.
It adapts fluidly to screen sizes, optimizing content placement and navigation for an intuitive and engaging user experience.

In conclusion, the Jeddah Bus Application seeks to address the challenges faced by the current public transportation system, making it more convenient, accessible, and efficient. By streamlining ticket purchasing for university students, providing seat selection reminders for individuals with disabilities, and offering real-time bus tracking, the app aims to transform bus travel into a reliable and user-friendly experience. Ultimately, this solution will enhance the daily commute for students and others who rely on public transportation, reducing delays and improving overall participation and punctuality.
